Hi there!

I love your blog; keep up the good work.

I have built a very simple yet very effective sort of hidden indoor cat ladder.

It combines two things:
1) cats find it relaxing to have the option to climb higher up.
2) that useless empty space on your shelves behind your books, or in my case, dvds? That is now finally being put to good use.

The pictures speak for themselves. Just cut a few holes in your shelves and space them opposite of one another.

The cat is quite big, but they are nimble beasts and he has no problems using it when he feels like it. No dvds are ever pushed out, but you can prevent it anyway either by simply packing the books/dvds in tightly or if you want to put in more effort, create some sort of divider wall.

I hope you like it.

Cheers,

And here are a highly professional instruction for the catladder!

Huge thanks to D de Jonge for sending these pictures!
Hi there,

Inspired by your website I had Nienke from Stadshout Amsterdam make this for my two cats Dexter and Louis. As you can see, it's quite high, about 9 meters or so. Louis went down twice, Dexter is still a bit afraid of hights. But for now, they think it's too cold to go outside. Hopefully they will use it more often when temperatures will go up again.

But thanks a lot for the inspiration!

Hi!

First I want to say I love your site! We used it a lot for inspiration when building our own cat-ladder. This one we build last spring. It took a while for my cat to get the hang of it, (it’s probably the 3rd version) but now he’s using it all the time.
He can climb up and down the fence by himself and uses the ladder to get to my balcony.

Met vriendelijke groet, Elise G, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Hello

Thanks for your site. I really enjoy it!

This is a cat ladder I build for my girlfriends two cats so they can explore the neighbors garden. It's in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

I also set up an IZON motion camera so she gets a push notification with a video on her iPhone when the cats use the ladder (see attached iPhone screenshot).

Have you always wanted a houseboat in Amsterdam? Now is your chance to buy one that even has a cat-ladder! It's yours for only € 420,000. Click here for more information. Thank Doortje for the tip about this boat!

Hi there!

I built also a catladder so here is a photo. I live in Utrecht (The Netherlands) in an old house so i cannot do anything with the doors so this was a nice alternative! My cat Janijs often also just sits outside on one of the stairs as a nice viewpoint over the neighbourhood.

Hope you like it!

Hi,

Begin this summer I made this cat ladder for our cats Nikki and Puck (looking down from the edge). The red one is our neighbour's cat, checking out the ladder;)

Kind regards,

Look really well. There is a ladder in there somewhere!

I love the smell of mail in the morning. Especially when it contains several pictures plus a movie. Here we have a fourteen meter long and eight meter tall staircase in Gouda, The Netherlands.

Hello

I would like to submit a couple of pics for your awesome blog.
I have adopted a stray cat, called Muis (Mouse), and in my current rental home, I was not allowed to make cat doors in my front door. My sister Anntje told me about your blog and I was inspired and so happy to have found a solution to free my cat! So, this ladder is made up of three parts and goes up from the inside of my window as a diagonally placed ladder, and then it goes outside along the wall and around the corner to my little front garden.

All credits to my sister Anntje, who designed the ladder with me, and to my other two sisters who have helped build the cat ladder.
Me and Muis are thankful for your awesome website which inspired us to design this one!

Cheers from Utrecht, The Netherlands!

Oh nooo, I have accidentally double post some pictures. But what the heck - this is the original images. The previous posting can be found here here.
Hi.

Your blogspot has helped me and my cat greatly. I send you some pictures. Would be nice to see them in the catladder gallery. They are a bit like the catladder from Groningen (The Netherlands). Me and my cat Luca Little Lightbeam live in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Thank you and keep up the good spirits.
